This is a magnificent pair of hand forged wrought iron, Colonial American candle sconces. The design, symmetry and overall composition of the scroll work are superb. Good original examples of this quality are extremely rare. This pair remains in untouched, as-found condition, with no breaks or repairs. The sconces stand 22″ tall and are an average of 6 1/2″ wide. They will hold a 1 1/8″ diameter candle in each of the cups. They are a great representation of early lighting in Colonial America and could be enjoyed in any early setting.
