Located in Hallam, Pennsylvania, Cabin Creek Muzzleloading stands as the nation’s premier destination for 18th-century gunsmithing. We are a Full Time, Professional, 18th Century Gunsmithing shop specializing in period craftsmanship and precision hand work. We are a father & son duo (Brad & Shane Emig) who work together on a daily basis, and bring nearly 60 years of combined experience to our craft.

It has always been our desire to deliver the most artistic, high quality, and authentically correct products possible to our customers. In an ongoing effort to accomplish that goal we continue to research, design, and innovate our products to the highest degree. Over the years we have developed a wide variety of items and services that are directly related to the gunsmithing trade in Colonial America, and the many years of research and hard work has developed our shop into one of the most unique and versatile 18th century gun shops in the continental U.S. We encourage you to browse through our web page as well as our social media pages to see all of the unique items that our shop offers.

Each project we take on is considered an individual work of art, and before the actual building process of your project begins, it will be thoroughly researched and documented for historical correctness.  For those customers requiring the absolute finest in authenticity; we offer completely hand crafted Rifles, Pistols and Fowling pieces that are produced using period techniques.  These unique pieces feature skelp-welded and hand-forged wrought iron barrels, hand forged wrought iron locks, and all hand crafted mountings that are made right here in our shop in Hallam, Pennsylvania by our very own hands.  Each and every screw, bolt, and affixment is made by hand in an 18th Century manner just as it was done 250 years ago.  For us, this is what traditional gunsmithing is all about.

Along with custom building, we also provides expert repair and restoration services to preserve your historical firearms, as well as repair and tuning services for contemporary muzzleloaders. If you are experiencing lock problems such as poor spark, ignition delays, or crushing flint, our experience in lock repair is unparalleled. We offer all other manner of gunsmithing work as well, such as barrel coning, frizzen hardening, or spring making.

If we can assist you in any way possible, please reach out to us at the shop. And while we are not a retail supply store, we do offer a curated collection of new and used items from other master craftspeople, and meet with our customers by appointment to ensure a personalized experience.
