Here we have an old Southern Mountain Rifle build in 50 caliber smooth. It’s stocked in a nice piece of curly maple with good color on the stock, aged iron mounts, and 8 silver escutcheons out the forestock. It has a 42″ Colerain “C” weight swamped barrel in .50 caliber smooth, and is signed “T.J.” on the top flat. The lock is an L&R Flintlock and is signed “Tom Faux, Brighton Co” on the inside of the lock plate.
The rifle measures 58″ in overall length, and balances and holds well, weighing in at 7 lbs. 8 oz. The trigger pull length is 13 5/8″.
