1820’s Ladder Back Chair (Childs Size)

This is a very nice, early Nineteenth Century Child’s Ladder Back Chair. The time period for a chair with this style of delicately turned finials, which are extremely well done is 1820’s-1840’s. It also has very nicely turned legs that have great turnings at the top as well as the bottom of the chair. A child’s chair, or doll chair, is of course smaller in size, with this one measuring 28″ tall, 15 1/4″ wide and 14″ deep. The chair is a triple ladder back and is in original, unaltered condition, still retaining its original height with unaltered or uncut legs. However, the chair has been repainted somewhere along its journey which is typical of a chair this age. The splint seat appears to be original as well and it shows its age with some wear along the edges. This is a great little chair that is rare and hard to find in this condition.
