54 caliber Pennsylvania Mountain Rifle SOLD

Here’s one of our PA Mountain Rifles that we just recently finished.  The Mountain Rifle is based on rifles found in the “Blue Mountain” region of eastern Pennsylvania, with its clean lines that exemplify beauty in simplicity.  This particular rifle is stocked in a beautiful piece of hard Ash that offers its own unique personality through its grain structure.  The 54 caliber barrel is a 38″ Colerain “C” weight with gain twist rifling that has been hand coned for ease of loading.  The lock is a Large Siler from Jim Chambers Flintlocks that has been completely gone over and hand tuned for a fast and reliable ignition.  Also, the traditional tapered ram rod with tapered iron tip adds a great historical look to the rifle along with the graduated ram rod pipes.   We finished off the stock with an Aqua Fortis stain to acquire the rich, vivid “chestnutty” color which is brought to life through a hand rubbed oil finish.
