Brand New and Unfired rifle built by Mike Compton in the Virginia tidewater style. This rifle started its life as a Kibler Colonial and Mike built it into a nice custom decorated piece. It is stocked from a beautiful slab of North American Black Cherry and exhibits a soft, warm and almost aged look against the brass mounts. The stock has been modified to have an early style stepped wrist architecture, and it has been adorned with Virginia style relief and incised carving, a custom patchbox, and an engraved lockplate and sideplate. For the bones of the rifle it features a .58 caliber, 43 1/4″ long Rice barrel, a large Round Faced English Flintlock and a single trigger. This is a very well executed rifle that has “the look” provided by the soft finish of the black cherry.
An excellent rifle that remains in new condition, and is ready for good use.
