Beautiful bag and horn set all hand made by Roland Cadle. The powder horn is a Philadelphia Screw Tip horn that features a turned tip, pewter banding and ornate scrimshaw design throughout. In the center of the horn stands a rampant horse adjacent to a rampant lion with a banner reading “May the Blossom of Liberty Never Fail” and the date 1776. The horn measures approx. 15″ on the outside curve and is attached to the bag with adjustable brass buckles.
The bag itself is made from woven antique coverlet over a leather body with a scalloped gusset and decorative flap. The bag measure 11″ wide by 9.5″ tall. The matching blue leather strap measures 2 1/4″ wide, and features a double prong brass buckle for adjustability.
This is a very nice outfit that I don’t believe has seen any use.
