Here’s a nice Iron Mounted Lancaster Rifle built by Bill Shipman. Bill stocked this rifle in the classsic architectural style of Lancaster County using a nice piece of curly maple that provides a really nice contrast with the aged iron mounts. Its features a 42″ Getz barrel with 7 groove square bottom rifling, a Large Siler Flintlock, and Double-Set triggers. This is a great example of Bills early work, with it featuring relief carved designs, inlay work, and a sliding wood patchbox. Overall this rifle remains in excellent condition and appears to have seen little usage. The lock has recently been gone over and hand tuned by Brad and is ready for service.
