Decorated pipe tomahawk by Brian Barker. This is a copy of the original shown in the “ACCOUTERMENTS” book by James R. Johnston on pages 101-102. The description reads “Pipe Tomahawk. Ash haft, with 30 silver inlays, pewter mouthpiece and pewter bands around the handle, is 17 1/2 inches long. Steel blade, with silver inlay and three brass bands on each side, and finely filed and engraved pipe bowl, 7 1/4 inches long with a 2 1/4 inch edge.”
Brian did a fantastic job recreating this one. The head is completely hand forged from wrought iron with a forge welded high cabon steel blade. The file work, inlay work and engraving was done just like the original. The Ash haft is spot on to the original with all of the silver inlays and pewter work. Brian makes some of the most authentic and well made pipe tomahawks today. His work is hard to come by and his pipe tomahawks rarely become available. This is a rare opportunity to own an authenticly made pipe tomahawk by Brian.
