Screyer Rifle By Wayne Watson **SlalePending**

Here is a rare opportunity to own one of Wayne Watsons early pieces of the iconic George Schreyer rifle. If you are familiar with Schreyers work then you will instantly recognize this rifle with its large, elaborately designed and profusely engraved patchbox, its long decorative brass comb plate, and the full length engraved toe plate. This rifle features the large silver inlay in the cheek piece which is engraved just as the original, and believed to possibly be in the likeness of George Washington. The brass sideplate features the “trophy of arms” engraving that shows a ploe arm or axe and a quiver and arrows, and both the entry pipe area and the barrel tang area are relief carved with the iconic Fleur-de-lis that Schreyer is so well known for. Wayne did quite a nice job capturing all of these original features and building a rifle that you can instantly tell is in the likeness of the work of George Schreyer.

The rifle features a 45″ long swamped barrel from Getz with 1-66 twist, a Small Siler Flitlock, and a handmade trigger.
